Long time no write...

Salamat,

It has been months since I have had a chance to get back into blogging and keeping with writing about the trials and tribulations of my wonderful children and how homeschooling them is going. And I must say so far so good! They are picking up new sounds and letters, going to Arabic and Quran class, playdates and ilhamdiallah they are loving being home with us and learning in a comfortable environment. Lots more to do and figure out but I figure it is a learning curve and I must persevere through it!. May Allah swt give me the strength and patience and we are on our way inshallah!

Little Exercises

So, I got home from work yesterday as I went in for a couple hours and I decided to do some little learning games with the kids about colours and counting. So our first game was "Can you tell me where you see this colour?" I have this preschool book that I use and it has a page of colours, so I would point at a colour, name and spell it out then ask them where they saw it all over the house. We did this for at least 30 minutes and they enjoyed it very much and mashallah were very observant looking at very little detailed items that had the specific colour I would be talking about. And then we sat on my bed and looked out the window while we played a counting game using the preschool exercise book, I will inshallah scan the exercises that I use as I go that way whom ever likes them can get an idea of what to use. It's pretty amazing how you can make any type of activity a learning experience for children and myself! And they just absorb it all mashallah.

Mr.Fix It..

Jamil loves to fix things and so any time he sees an opportunity to fiddle and fix he takes it. He actually unscrewed the chair bolt just so he could screw it back in. Very focused...mashallah,lol.

On our Bike Ride

The kids love to stop and explore the trees or patches of flowers. So our bike ride becomes an excursion of sorts..

A day at the park.

I got home from work yesterday and made sure the kids were ready for a day at the park, they were exhausted before they even got there but we still managed to get some laughs in. Sophie LOVES to roll down the hills, just like mommy did. :-)

Allah's Masterpiece and Jamil's Masterpiece!

Another day in craft world!

I have the whole summer to begin planning my lesson plans and organizing my weeks of adventures and endeavours. Wish me luck! Will keep you posted on how things go. Salaamz!

Mr. Jokester

We were at the park a few weeks ago and this is the little face that was staring right at me. I couldn't help but laugh like crazy, it was so cute and out of nowhere!
