These are some of the learning guides that I have been using to prepare myself when teaching the kids on phonics, and homeschooling practices in general.
My way of capturing the wondrous moments of my three bundles of joy Ensaf, Jamil and Maryam. And to share our journey in this "Dunya" together, thanking Allah(swt) for giving me these gifts of love to experience life with and make the most of each day that we have together. Thank you Allah for every blessing you have given me.

Start when their small...
I try as much as possible to get Ensaf and Jamil to pray with us even if its for two seconds and they go through the motions, they slowly have been able to catch on. They know to move from every position when Allahu Akbar is pronounced for example. I made an effort when I was in Palestine to buy them their own prayer mats and head apparel. They really get into it when they have to dress up and prepare themselves. We are currently working on Ayat Al Kursi and Surat Al Ikhlas. Ilhamdiallah they have learned Al-Fatiha and Surat Al Nas. They have also learned basic facts such as when I ask them these specific questions they know the answers now.
1. Min Rabak? Allah SWT
2. Min Nabeek? Mohammad SAW
3. What is Kitab Allah? Al Quran
4. What is your religion or Sho Deenak? Al Islam
5. Where is Al Quds? Falasteen
6. Where is Al Kaaba? Mecca
7. What is the Kalima? Eshadu La Illaha Il Allah Mohammad Al Rasul Allah
And more then anything consistency with these simple recitaions and questions has ilhamdiallah made it stick!

Alif Baa Taa Game!
I play this game with my kids so they learn the letters of the Arabic alphabet and so they can recognise each harf and their sequence. They are very excited when they get all the correct letters in the right "slot". I cut out numerous letters and hide them around the living room. The object of the game is to find the letters as fast as they can and put them in the right slot that is hanging. I will use four or five different letters, whomever finishes finding all the letters and gets them in the correct slots wins. They also have to yell out which letter is going into which slot. It's fun and makes learning fun too for them, um and me!
Tools!
So when I decided to homeschool I really had to figure out the best way my kids would learn and really try and focus on the task at hand, which of course is never an easy endeavour. So far what has been working is sitting at our dining table and using a simple easel that has the two sides, dry erase board and chalk board to go through our lessons. They also have two miniature dry erase boards that they can write things on as we go along too. Some tools we have been using other than the easel of course are lots of flash cards, ABC's/Phonics, Math, Opposites, Arabic alphabet etc. As I am also making tools as I go for games and so forth. I have posted some photos of the tools that I have been using for them so far.
